The syphon has remained a popular brewing method for a long time now for a number of reasons. Aside from its beauty and the theatre of preparation, it actually has a very stable and controllable temperature in the upper chamber.

Cloth filtered siphon brews are capable of exceptional body and sweetness, clarity and complexity and we love this brewing method.

For best maintenence, keep the cloths clean, best kept submerged in water when not in use to prevent drying out. Cloths can be cleaned using espresso cleaner, but must be rinsed thoroughly before re-using.

Hario 'Skerton' Plus hand grinders use an improved Burr shaft with a new stabilizer plate which the original model was only available as an option extra. It also added an easy-grind adjustment screw with ceramic, conical burrs which can be easily adjusted to produce a range of grind sizes. A rubber base keeps your Hario Skerton Plus steady against the table as you grind, the glass is extremely resistant to breaking.

The Pro version has a slightly different body style than the other two. The grind size selector was moved to the bottom of the unit, the handle connector to the central shaft was redesigned, and the shaft itself was redesigned for a more stable grinding experience at the coarse setting. Overall the Hario Skerton Pro quickly became a leader in all-around quality for hand grinding coffee beans… especially for consistent grinding for coarse applications such as pour over, filter and drip.
