Welcome to the new year, 2010. We hope you have had a great Christmas and new year holiday break. The coffee machine in our house has been working overtime this holiday season. I treated myself to a new manual lever espresso machine from Italy, a La Pavoni Europiccola. Its great for controlling the espresso process. I have found a new love for our Colombia beans with this machine, but I still really enjoy Brazil prepared in our Bodum Plunger.
We have had a great break, so good in fact that we are still on holidays.Here is what we have been up to at Bay Beans;
We announce the January Premium Reserve exotic bean
January is a new month, and as such, we have a new Premium Reserve bean of the month. December was Kenya AA Top Gaigundo, this month we have on offer PNG Guono Highland, which has a chocolate, caramel, nutty flavour. Very smooth and just surpurb as a plunger coffee. We hope you enjoy it.
Advice on perfecting your coffee making skills
Would you like some help on improving your coffee making skills? Your just not sure how to get the best out of your machine, or how much coffee you should be using? Bay Beans is here to help. When I first started out making coffee at home, I was so surprised at the improved taste I could achieve by following a few simple steps. There are a few important things like how much coffee you should be using in your plunger or machine, how much pressure should be applied to the tamp process, or how long the coffee extraction process should take. Did you know that you should be aiming to extract only 30ml of coffee espresso over a 25-30sec extraction period to get the best results? If this is new to you, or you would like some assistance on how to achieve these results, just ask by email or phone. Maybe you want to know how to make the best frothy milk for your cappuccino or flat white? You will be making cafe quality coffee for you and your friends in now time.
